How a Sculpture Is Packed

A large sculpture travels in parts. Before it leaves Pattaya it is taken apart, and every part is wrapped on its own, so that nothing rubs, knocks or scratches on the way. The photos below were taken at the yard while pieces were being packed.

Step by step

  1. The sculpture is taken apart: arms, legs, head, body and weapons come off. Where we have one, the last photo on a product page shows the piece taken apart.
  2. Each part is wrapped tightly in clear stretch film.
  3. Foam sheets and cardboard go between the parts.
  4. The wrapped parts are set on a wooden pallet and strapped down, and the crate is built around them.

At the destination the parts go back together. How the freight is worked out and paid is on Shipping and Payment.
